I have not made much progress at my blog.  Life gets in the way sometimes. My Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Dementia, we took her to an assisted living  facility for 3 day trial.  She was not really happy there, but she is not really going to be safe on her own much longer.

We had a snow storm dumping about 8 inches which has been a number of years since we have seen that amount.  But I did spend several hours Saturday sewing, getting 4 blocks made for quilt I am making as a gift for our son.

Tomorrow I hope I can do a little bit more depending on my time.  I also help with my Aunt who has a Dr. appointment in the morning.  But she said her driveway was not passable, so that needs to be changed. Plus deal with my Mom tomorrow.  God will see me through this in his own way.

Retirement Here I Come

I am starting out my New Year with trying out some blogging.  I have enjoyed reading many other's for the last several years.  I retired in November of last year, and I want to work on all my hobbies I so love to do.  I did not have time for them all and sporadically would do one or the other.  I love sewing, quilting, knitting, genealogy & other crafting at times.  Of course life just never quite turns out like you expect each day.  My husband had a planned surgery the first part of December and he has a 3 month recovery period, so I knew I would still be time limited to some degree on my hobbies.  But the unexpected happened, my 91 year old Mother fell which now involves more time taking care of another person.  But life will go on and I will continue getting done what I can do.  I have managed since Christmas to make a bag from a jelly roll that my daughter & family gifted to me as Christmas gift.  I have almost completed a sweater I began knitting about 7 months ago. I am sewing up the seams and it will be good to go.

I hope to begin showing my projects and making new friends.  I love to watch Quiltcam and follow Bonnie K. Hunter, Pat Sloan and her podcast, Holly Knight and her Rockstars.  I have not yet started Bonnie K. Hunter's new mystery quilt this year "Good Fortune" as I have several UFO's hanging around that I want to complete this year.

I will do my best to come and post something each day!
